Centrally located and full of character Plymouth College has a fantastic range of accommodation, facilities and services to offer. We have gained a reputation for being friendly, helpful and professional with a hard-working support team.

We would be very pleased to host your event and offer a competitive all-inclusive rate for our residential accommodation which can be tailored to suit with additional services by separate arrangement.

Plymouth College is set in a central location in Plymouth, just 5 minutes walk from the train station and all amenities are within walking distance from the campus accommodation.

Our accommodation comprises of:

  • Mannamead House – can accommodate up to 48 with 23 spacious rooms.
  • Colson House – can accommodate up to 60 with 32 spacious rooms.

Many of our rooms have washbasins and all the houses each have their own kitchens and common room areas equipped with TVs, DVDs and game stations.

Our larger houses host a range of common areas that allow our guests to enjoy a range of recreational activities such as table tennis and pool.

Floor plans of our accommodation are available upon request.

We offer a full support service here at Plymouth College, led by our experienced Host Manager, who will available throughout your stay and able to support your group’s needs and make your stay as enjoyable as possible. Services include:

White Works

‘Whiteworks’ is the ideal venue to experience and enjoy the glory and splendour of Dartmoor.

Set in the heart of Dartmoor, just two miles from Princetown these former miner’s cottages have been converted to provide great bunkhouse accommodation in the centre of the moors.

The accommodation comprises;

• Five bedrooms with bunk beds provide comfortable sleeping capacity for a total of twenty people.

• A purpose built and fully equipped kitchen provides an ample facility for cooking and includes separate fridge  and freezer and a six burner/twin oven cooker with plenty of storage and kitchen utensils.

• A large shower room with additional bathrooms and toilets

• Two lounges for dining, training and relaxation

• Surrounding gardens that can be used for camping to accommodate additional guests

All of our Instructors are highly experienced and hold all the relevant National governing body qualifications, all essential safety equipment is provided to make sure you have an enjoyable and educational experience.

 

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

Climbing and Abseiling

Whether you after the experience of climbing on the granite Tors of Dartmoor National Park, the limestone sea cliffs of Torbay or maybe even an indoor session at one of our local climbing walls we can cater for you.

Hill Walking

Why not explore some of the West countries beautiful landscapes while you’re here. We can offer guided walks, Duke of Edinburgh’s expeditions, NNAS navigation awards and Walking Group Leader awards.

Kayaking

From the white water rivers of Dartmoor National Park to taster sessions on flat water we can provide you with a fun and educational experience. British Canoe Union star awards, rolling clinics and moving water skills courses are just a few of the services we can provide.

Sea Kayaking

If you’ve ever thought about exploring the coastline of Devon and Cornwall then why not do it via Sea Kayak. It’s a great way to get up close and personal with the wildlife and the opportunity to explore the amazing and varied sea cliffs.

Canoeing

Canoes are such versatile crafts. Whether you want to paddle as a pair or take to the water solo be can give you the necessary skills. Paddle a grade 2 river, Journey across a lake for a picnic or expedition for your chosen length of time you can do it all in a canoe.

Mountain biking

If two wheels is your choice of transport then why nor come Mountain Biking with us. From the natural trails of Dartmoor National Park, Manmade trails of Haldon Forest or a gentle bimble up the Plym Valley trail we have something for you. We also run Introductory and improver skills courses and Duke of Edinburgh Expeditions.

Coasteering

Most probably the fastest growing activity in the south-west if not the country. Coasteering is a thrill a minute. Safety is paramount and all essential equipment is provided. Jumping from rocky outcrops, swimming and climbing along the coastline is all part of the fun. Coming face to face with the wildlife and exploring the surroundings make Coasteering a truly amazing experience.

Gorge Walking

Gorge walking in a nutshell it is one of the best outdoor activities that you can do.  Basically it involves your party scrambling up or down a river or stream. Now this might seem quite tame but it is the type of river that makes the difference. As the name might suggest, all the rivers we operate in run through narrow valleys and small gorges which produces various natural challenges for your team to overcome.

Archery

For all you budding ‘‘Robin Hood’s’’ out there, why not come and give Archery a go. A great activity if you want less intensity. This activity can be offered indoors or out depending on the weather.

Team building/Problem Solving

We have a wide range of problems and activities to challenge your team. Our Instructors are highly experienced and will review your efforts with you to build your team. These activities can be coupled with any of the above to make a fun and constructive package. Whether you are a corporate entity looking for a challenge, a school group or a gathering of family/friends we can cater for you.

There are in excess of 50 classrooms equipped with internet access, interactive whiteboards, projectors and audio systems. We are also able to provide suitable examination accommodation and even a professional invigilating service if required.

Computer Suites

There are recently equipped computer suites at both school sites. These offer excellent accommodation for training and skills development courses.

Assembly Halls

Senior School Mead-King Hall and Drama Studio – with seated accommodation for up to 220 which together with the theatre stage, full audio visual facilities and parking  make this the perfect venue for hosting presentations, theatrical productions and even choir festivals ! The drama studio is the perfect venue for small scale rehearsals.
