Through the stimulating and enriching education provided at Plymouth College Prep School, we ensure that our pupils are fully prepared and excited to progress to secondary school. The vast majority of our pupils continue their academic journey into the Senior School, many securing scholarships in different areas, taking advantage of taster days, visits and information evenings provided. We have a larger intake of pupils into year 7, who settle easily having attended taster days in the months leading up to the start of the academic year.
Our preparation into senior school starts as early as year 5; our pupils are offered taster days along with experiencing many of the excellent teaching facilities in the Senior School on a regular basis. We use this time to identify those who will progress to scholarships and awards as well as those who we nurture in developmental streams. This time allows our pupils to feel confident and secure in their next academic pathway.
A combination of academic knowledge, a positive attitude, inner confidence, enrichment and social experiences allow our pupils to hit the ground running, and we take great pride in knowing that we have fully prepared them for the next stage of their academic career.
The move to Senior School, which takes place at the age of 11, Year 7, marks the start of their exciting journey through the school, taking advantage of the fantastic opportunities available to them as they are prepared for future examinations, including GCSEs and A-Levels, and their lives beyond Plymouth College.
