Plymouth College pentathletes Annabel Denton and Georgina Mitchell both claimed top 20 finishes at the Under-19 World Championships in Sofia.
Both Annabel and Georgina performed exceptionally well. Annabel, the youngest member of the GB under-19 team, finished in ninth place and won a team bronze medal with GB. Georgina finished 19th and fenced phenomenally, scoring 27 victories and just eight defeats from her 35 bouts.
All four GB pentathletes finished inside the top 20. A team bronze due to the leading trio’s scores was a 25th medal of the 2019 season for Pentathlon GB athletes, highlighting the current strength at all age groups after the many senior and junior medals that have been won over the past few months.
