Music Awards & Achievements


Congratulations to Freddy Dennis, Year 6, and to Eden Bishop, Year 11, who achieved first place in all three of their singing classes in the Saltash Festival of Music, Speech and Drama.

Eden won the following cups after winning all three classes:

The Dot & Bert Speare Anniversary Trophy for Song from a Show (15-17) - Ol' Man River

The Statton Cup for Song in English (15-17) - Music for a While

The Combe Family Trophy for Junior Recital (15-17) - Le Violette, Johanna, Ill Wind

Freddy won the following cups after winning all three classes:

The Jenny Doney Memorial Cup for Junior Song from a Show - Anyone Can Whistle

The Fred Baird Perpetual Cup for Junior Own Choice Song other than English - Panis Angelicus

The John & Elizabeth Ainger Cup for Junior Own Choice Song (Not Show) - Sweet Rose and Lily

Freddy then demonstrated his musical versatility by winning three further classes in the violin and guitar classes and being awarded the Doreen Ward Award (Violin Solo – 10 and 11 years), The Barraball Cup (Violin Solo – Grade 2 and 3) and the Gloria June Fenney Cup (Guitar Solo -Year 6 and under).

As a result of his performances, Freddy was invited to sing in the Saltash Festival Gala Performance to conclude the Festival this Saturday.
