Plymouth College sixth former, Dan Pengelly (pictured centre), has been presented with a Certificate of Commendation by The Worshipful Company of Security Professionals in London.
Dan and fellow Tamar Trotter running club members, Alan Williams and Jason Hingley, rescued a man from the water after he fell from the Tamar Bridge in January. The three runners were nominated by Devon and Cornwall Police for the Sheriffs Award for Bravery. With the endorsement of the Sheriffs of the City of London, the award recognises and honours individuals who have shown courage and initiative in protecting people, property or liberty.
The Commendation was presented by Alderman and Sheriff, Charles Bowman, and Sheriff, Dr Christine Rigden.
