Plymouth College Preparatory School pupils have been linking with children in Nepal. Part of the British Council’s Connecting Classrooms initiative, the Prep children have been working on a project about festivals with students at Gurukul Academy.
While the Prep children have been writing about Christmas, New Year, Easter and Bonfire Night, the Nepalese students have shared their work on the festivals of Teej, Holi, Chhat and Dashain among others.
Connecting Classrooms is designed to help young people develop the knowledge, skills and values to live and work in a globalised economy. School partnerships give students an insight into another way of life. By working together on joint projects, students can gain a greater appreciation of cultural diversity and global issues such as migration, sustainability and conflict.
