On Friday, Mr Michie-Carr and Mrs Johns took a group of Sixth Form Pre-Med pupils to St Luke’s Hospice to visit the specialist unit at Turnchapel. The pupils were given a talk and tour of the unit, and then presented a cheque to the charity from various fundraising events across the year. The charity was incredibly grateful for the donation, and said in a tweet: 'we hope we have inspired you for your future career in medicine and broken a few hospice myths along the way. Big love to all the students who have raised over £700 for our charity'.
St Luke's cares for more than 3,500 people each year at home, at Derriford Hospital and at the specialist unit in Turnchapel. St Luke's care reaches across South West Devon and East Cornwall as well as Plymouth and last year the team travelled 66,804 miles!
