This afternoon, Year 7 pupils took to the stage in the performance poetry competition finals. Each performer presented their poem with confidence, using actions and expressive voices to bring their chosen poem to life. Pupils performed a range of poems, by authors such as Pam Ayres and Jack Prelutsky and tackled a variety of topics- from funny poems that had the audience laughing to more serious topics, such as the suffragette movement. It was a tough competition to judge as all of the pupils gave strong performances, but the final results were:
Winner: Phoebe Timson, performing ‘The Dentist and the Crocodile’ by Roald Dahl.
Runner up: Jude Foale, performing ‘Chocolate Cake’ by Michael Rosen.
