This week has been another incredible week at the Senior School and the Home Learning Plan. Even with our lessons having to take place online, it hasn't stopped our practical lessons from taking place and our pupils learning away from their screens. From our tutor times, to our A level lessons, to extra-curricular activity - we've had a fun filled week!
Biology
Our A Level Biologists have been spending their lessons with Mr Prideaux learning about photosynthesis. They have specifically learning about the production of oxygen during photosynthesis by conducting an experiment that shows the rate of oxygen production as the plant discs rise to the surface of the water in the syringe.
Design Technology
Our Design Technology lessons with Mrs Lisney have also been filled with practical work and has seen some incredible prototype work from our Year 7 pupils following their architectural design research and sketching inspired by Zaha Hadid that they got up to last week. In our Year 10 GCSE Product Design class, our Plymouth College designers have been in the kitchen this week testing out their vegetable peelers and analysing them ready to redesign next week in more practical lessons!
Geography
In our GCSE Geography lessons, our Year 10 pupils have been learning both in their live lessons and away from their screens. They have been learning all about coastal erosion that occurs cliffside. Our Year 10 pupil Millie created this wonderfully creative storyboard using cake to display how the erosion process takes place in coastal areas:
