Our annual Speech Day got off to a great start with a wonderful celebration of our pupils' achievements this year in the Headmaster’s opening speech. Sincere thanks to Dame Mary Richardson for presenting the prizes and giving such a wonderfully inspiring speech. The Forsyth Cup for this year was won by Sargents following a particularly strong performance in the recent House Drama competition.
The celebrations continued into the afternoon, with a variety of entertainment including shadow puppetry, laser shooting and a 1930s Dance Orchestra to name but a few. There was also an Art Exhibition and OPM Memorabilia Display, which was enjoyed once the delicious picnic hampers had been eaten.
The highlight of the day was the official unveiling of the George Stephenson Pavilion, followed by a Cricket match between the current Plymouth College 1st XI and a 'George Stephenson XI', made up of various year groups who played cricket with George. The Pavilion was also the venue for Afternoon Tea, showcasing the excellent refurbishment in honour of George.
