The children in Year 2 enjoyed a fabulous afternoon with local artist, Brian Pollard.
They were able to ask him lots of questions about what it was like to be a professional artist and all about his different paintings. The children were able to look at two of his paintings that he had brought along; including one of a cat whose eyes followed you!
Brian then set about showing Year 2 how to plan their own paintings of the Hoe, demonstrating how many of the objects were made up from basic shapes. The children then had a wonderful time creating their own paintings 'Pollard style' with acrylics. Brian was on hand to offer tips and advice along the way.
The children were very proud of their paintings and Brian said they were all 'budding artists'!
