Plymouth College Preparatory School class, 5 Bronte, had a taste of Chinese culture in a kite-making and treat-tasting activity run by Oliver and Hugo's Mum, Mrs Kehoe.
Mrs Kehoe showed the children how to make Chinese kites, which they decorated with symbols of good luck. The activity was linked to a book they are reading called 'Little Leap Forward' about a boy's childhood in Beijing during the Cultural Revolution. Kite-making was banned but Little Leap Forward and his friends still made them using sheets of paper.
The Year 5 children also got to sample Chinese treats such as white rabbit sweets, haw flakes, sweet egg rolls and dried melon.
