Year 6 have enjoyed a day at Thurlestone beach on a Geography and Art trip, making the most of the early Autumn sunshine.
As part of their Geography studies, the pupils looked at the structure of the coast in detail. They discovered which rocks can stand up to the battering of the waves, which are crumbling away and what features are left behind.
In Art, the children had the opportunity to make sketches of the stunning scenery, sitting where Turner himself would have sat to paint Thurlestone rock. They also turned their talents to beach art, creating a giant ship sand sculpture.
