The multi-eventing season has got off to a great start with Plymouth College athletes winning three titles and three silver medals at the National Tetrathlon Championships in Solihull.
In the U17 girls' event, Kerenza Bryson took gold. She won the fence and the combined event, and secured a PB in the swim. Eimear O'Neill came second but because she represents Southern Ireland, she could not collect the silver medal. This promoted Kerrie Johnson from 3rd to 2nd. The girls claimed the team gold.
In the U17 boys' competition, Myles Pillage won the swim and came second in the fence but dropped to the silver medal overall because of his shoot in the combined section. The U17 boys' team of Myles, Daniel Pengelly and Edward Clark took gold. Paddy Erskine took silver in the U19 boys.
In total, fifteen Plymouth College athletes went to the Championships.
In other multi-eventing news, Plymouth College's Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, Andy Hill, has received Honorary Colours from Plymouth University. He shared the platform with Queen drummer, Roger Taylor, who was awarded an honorary degree.
