PLYMOUTH COLLEGE CRICKETERS DOMINATE WEEKEND THRILLER
After all school fixtures cancelled last term, it was fantastic to see current and former Plymouth College pupils give outstanding performances in the Minor Counties Senior Men's Fixture between Devon and Cornwall on Sunday 16th August at Sandford Cricket Club.
Cricket usually takes centre stage in the summer term but despite a significantly shortened season, pupils Ben Privett and Elliot Hamilton showed they haven’t let this affect their game. Privett, the Captain of Cricket at Plymouth College played for Devon, alongside Hamilton who top scored with an excellent 67 in a thrilling match against Cornwall.
Three former pupils, Tom Dinnis (Cornwall), James Degg and Ben Beaumont (Devon), also impressed with Dave Tall, Devon’s Director of Cricket, praising Beaumont, alongside Hamilton, for their efforts with the bat.
Mr Mutlow, Director of Sport, said: “It’s testament to Head of Cricket, Mr Byrne and the Cricket programme at Plymouth College to see five of our current and former pupils playing for their counties at a senior level. I’m proud of them all and looking forward to seeing more great performances.”
