Sixth Form geographers have had a chance to see first-hand how weather is forecast with a trip to the Met Office in Exeter.
The students were hosted by Graeme Boyce, the Strategy and Development Coordinator of the Flood Forecasting Centre. They were given a tour of the Ops Room and invited to look at the super computers which process the information that comes from all the satellites.
“This was such a great opportunity for our geographers,” said Head of Geography, Anya Starling. “The visit tied in really well with their A2 Climatic Hazards unit - being able to see weather forecasting in action was an invaluable experience.”
