Year 7 historians have spent a busy day exploring Cornwall's castles.
Starting at Launceston, the students walked every medieval wall and outhouse seeking evidence of how people used to live in castles. They analysed the Great Hall and kitchen before counting the 80 steps to the castle keep with beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, which helped explain why the castle was built there.
The historians then moved on to Restormel Castle at Lostwithiel and devised cunning plans to attack and defend the castle under orders from the King using foot soldiers, archers, battering rams and trebuchets.
The students were excellent ambassadors for the school and a wonderful day was had by all.
