Plymouth College Year 7 pupils, Freddie Grassam and Zoe Lancaster, have raised £225 between them to help a boy in Tanzania to go to school.
Their fund-raising is part of a year group initiative in conjunction with the Banana Tree Project, which supports Stephen Mautula who has spent time living on the streets and in orphanages.
Freddie raised £150 by swimming the equivalent in metres as nautical miles from here to Tanzania. Zoe collected £75 by making a gingerbread house, which she raffled at the Prep School.
A further £150 has been raised by all four Year 7 tutor groups by producing a calendar with photos of them at Whiteworks, on the castles' trip and in lessons.
