Plymouth College swimmers, Laura Stephens, 15, and Tegan Drew, 14, will swim for England in an international competition in Italy in May.
The girls, who are both British National Swimming Champions and swim for Plymouth Leander, have been selected by England Programmes for the Standard Energy International Meet. They will compete against swimmers from four other nations.
Laura and Tegan won their places on the national team after impressing selectors at a series of England Talent camps. This will be Laura’s second outing for the team - she competed for England in the Portugal Open last year.
Grant Robbins, England Programmes Team Leader, said: “This is the final part of the ET Programme for the 2014-2015 season and will provide a great opportunity to compete while still in the national competition window. This offshore competition will give England Programme athletes the experience of competing abroad in a high standard competition which can only be beneficial to their continual future development.”
