Plymouth College was well represented in Plymouth’s Half Marathon at the weekend. The 13.1 mile course starts and finishes on the iconic Plymouth Hoe and takes in the historic Barbican, as well as a section through the beautiful Saltram Park.

Maths teacher, Andy Norris, finished in an impressive 1 hour 18 minutes. Andy, who looks after the school’s running community, was 1st in his age category and 7th overall. Head of Biology, Simon Jordan, also took part.

Lower Sixth pupil, Dan Pengelly, crossed the line in 1 hour 39 minutes while Upper Sixth student, Harry Preston, finished in 1 hour 44 minutes. For the girls, Lizzie Fearnley and Bizzie Dinnis, both in the Lower Sixth, finished in a respectable 1 hour 51 minutes. Competing in her first half marathon, Lizzie (pictured left) raised £500 for Macmillan.

Recent leavers Alex and Kelcey Pillage finished in 1 hour 30 minutes and 1 hour 59 minutes respectively.

Two members of staff and Upper Sixth student, Robbie Lockyer, are competing in the London Marathon this weekend, while the Lower Sixth's Poppy Tank is representing the South West in the London Mini Marathon.
