Plymouth College pentathletes Jess Manning and Annabel Denton have returned from representing Great Britain in the second World Biathle Tour event of the year with fantastic results and personal bests.
Held in Italy, this was the first time the girls had competed overseas and represented their country. The event consisted of a continuous run-swim-run with different distances for each age group. Other countries competing included Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Republic, Mexico and Argentina as well as the host team, Italy.
Jess Manning finished in an impressive 2nd place in Youth B Girls. Jess also set a new personal best of 9’45, a 30 seconds improvement. Not to be out done Annabel Denton was 3rd coming out of the swim and finished 6th overall in Youth D Girls. Annabel set a new personal best time of 4’38, an outstanding 17 seconds improvement.
Pentathlon Coach Josh Lake said: “The girls have been working very hard, particularly to improve their run, which has been rewarded with these fantastic results. Their performances will give them great confidence for the next World Biathle event in Portugal in July.”
