Plymouth College took a significant amount of momentum into this game against Wellington after a strong performance against Cornwall eight days ago. The Plymouth side are now one win away from winning the South West B title and making the last eight nationally in the Natwest Vase Competition.
Played on the Keyham 3G pitch under lights against a spirited opposition, Plymouth College’s performance included some very dynamic attacking, scoring from the outset; efficient kick reception, quick ball, strong carrying and well timed injection of width resulted in an Isaac Rayworth try, followed up by a 'harder to miss' conversion from in front. Plymouth turned around 28-7 in front having controlled possession, set piece and territory.
This was a positive outing by the team; tries were scored across the side and it was a performance underpinned by physicality, pace and a decent amount of enterprise. Final score Plymouth College 60, Wellington 19.
The next opponents are Downside from Somerset, a school with an enviable rugby history, who will make the journey to Plymouth for a date to be confirmed next week.
