Talented musicians and actors from Plymouth College Prep and Senior schools have competed in the Saltash Festival of Music, Speech and Drama.
Jeremy Lane in Year 9 won the Duologue Acting class, performing a piece written by his Mum, who is also his drama teacher. He and his partner won the highest score for Drama. Jeremy (pictured left) came second in Solo Acting and Prose Reading.
Danielle Trathen, Year 7, played a very emotional piece to win the Secondary School Recorder Trophy. She also performed in the Festival Gala Concert.
Three members of the Wannell family (pictured top left) also won awards. Jocelyn in Year 10 took first place for Piano Solo (French composer), while Harry in Year 8 won Instrument Solo on the trumpet. Keeping it in the family, Bryony, in Year 4 at the Prep School, achieved a distinction and first place for Initial Grade Piano Solo.
Also from the Prep School, Daisy Smith, was awarded the trophy in the Grade 2 Piano Class, while Chloe Bersey won the silverware for Primary School Recorder. The Prep recorder group won join first place for their category.
