The Plymouth College equestrian team has competed in two inter-school competitions, both at Bicton Arena.

The first was the Arena Eventing, where Rebecca Newcombe, Liz Rowlands, Dizzy Leman and Isabelle Joce represented the school in all four height classes. Liz and her horse, Troy, started the day well earning 10th place in the 70cm class as well as being the fourth closest to the optimum time in a competitive class. Rebecca, riding Tigger, also got very close to the optimum time, but XC faults dropped her down the order. In class three, Dizzy Leman achieved a double clear on Dillyn, but gained 12 time faults for going too fast! Isabelle Joce (pictured) rode two horses and judged her rounds brilliantly. She achieved double clears on both Incy and Kolly, and finished in 3rd and 4th places overall. Isabelle then went one better in the open class and finished in 2nd place by virtue of just a single time fault.

The second competition was the Inter-schools Show Jumping competition. Liz Rowlands started Plymouth College off in style with a lovely double clear in class one. Rebecca had some unlucky rubs plus some direction issues in class two, but rode her horse well. In class three, both Isabelle and Dizzy produced double clears but not quick enough to get into the rosettes. It was class four that produced the best entertainment, with Dizzy riding the round of the day and Isabelle Joce falling off in spectacular style!

Coming up soon are two more competitions at Bicton Arena. Show Jumping on Friday 19th February and Dressage on Sunday 28th February.
