The game started slowly with the shots failing to go in, even after the defence and attack worked hard to get the ball up the court. The movement was good, but it took some time to get their eye into sinking the shots. Once warmed up Annabelle was sinking shots from all over the circle and getting great rebounds if they didn't first go in. The feeds into the circle were quite good at times, but the overhead pass was still used far too much which was intercepted and turned over by their tall defence.
Again, the centre court of Danielle and Rebecca were formidable in turning the ball over and sending it flying back into the shooting circle, both Abagael and Sophie commanded the circle, and little got near the post. As the game became very one-sided, Plymouth College decided to change it up to give everyone an opportunity to play on the court and in other positions, to enable them to appreciate and learn their court craft.
The changes did little to dent the team's structure and flow of play, so another change was implemented at 3/4 time. A complete mix up of the team, the defence played in attack and visa versa. The swap changed the team's dynamics, the opposition had more chances, but we still maintained our huge lead. A great win by the U13 players and as always great team spirit and work ethic.
Final score 30 - 5 to Plymouth College.
