With a personal best time of 10.49 in the 3,000 metre run, and 2.53 on the clock in the 200 metre swim, Sarah has qualified for the National Biathlon Championships being held in Macclesfield in May.
Her win came the day after she represented Devon, and came 56th out of 309 runners, in the Senior English Schools Crosscountry Championships in Liverpool. Fellow Plymouth College pupil, Poppy Le Marechal (Year 10), represented Devon in the Intermediate event.
Aged 17, Sarah is studying for A Levels in Maths, English, Economics and History. In the future she hopes to go the Bath University, home of the Pentathlon Training Centre.
“It was great to win this competition”, said Sarah. “I was particularly pleased to get a PB in the run and I’m really looking forward to attending the nationals.”
