Pupils, staff and parents at Plymouth College Junior School are mourning the loss of a much loved teacher and colleague, Mr Joel Perchais. Joel, 56, who has taught French and Information Technology at the school since 1974, passed away at the weekend after battling with cancer.
Plymouth College Junior School Headmaster, Chris Gatherer, said: “Mr Perchais has been an inspiration to thousands of pupils over the past 34 years. As well as being a housemaster at the school, he led the annual Year 6 trip to Normandy. His caring nature, and tremendous sense of humour, made him a very popular member of staff. The thoughts of everybody connected with the school are with his immediate family and particularly his partner Jenny.”
