Year 5 extended their geographical studies recently with the exploration of some prehistoric, limestone caves in Torquay.
The investigative trip to Kent’s Cavern was to enhance the children’s work on rivers and water and in particular the effect of erosion on rock strata, thus building on the previous year’s work on the properties of various rock types.
This exploration allowed them to utilise all their senses and return to school armed and ready to use their experience across all subjects.
