More than 100 green-fingered pupils and staff at Plymouth College have helped to create a garden on the roof of the school dining hall.
Called the Gutter Grow Project, a selection of herbs, flowers, vegetables, fruit and nut trees were planted creating a habitat for insects and birds where there was none before. The lunchtime and after-school planting sessions took place on International Biodiversity Day.
The event put Plymouth College on the global map of schools taking part around the world as part of "Green Wave", which is run as a schools' project through United Nations Convention on Biological Diversity (UNCBD).
