
Plymouth College features strongly in this year's Herald Sports Personality of the Year Awards with six nominations. In addition, the school sponsors the Team of the Year Award.
Olympic champion, Ruta Meilutyte, and Olympic bronze medallist, Tom Daley, are up for the main Sports Personality of the Year Award. Ruta is also shortlisted in the Young Sports Personality of the Year Award alongside fellow pupil and European Junior Swimming Champion, Joe Patching (pictured). Director of Swimming, Jon Rudd, and Director of Modern Pentathlon and Fencing, Andy Hill, are both finalists in the Coach of the Year category.
Last year Plymouth College leaver and England U20 rugby player, Henry Slade, won the Young Sports Personality of the Year Award while current pupil and GB diver, Tom Daley won the Champagne Moment.
The 2012 winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony at Plymouth Pavilions on 3 December.
