Oliver Colvile, MP for Plymouth, Sutton and Devonport has visited Plymouth College to meet and congratulate some of the school's top athletes.
The school had a phenomenal 2012 with pupils claiming Olympic, World, European and British titles in swimming and diving. Among the group Mr Colvile met was Olympic gold medallist, Ruta Meilutyte. Also present were modern pentathletes, fencers, basketball players, cricketers, rugby players, hockey players and netballers.
"We were delighted to welcome Mr Colvile to the school", said Plymouth College Headmaster, Dr Simon Wormleighton. "The profile of the city of Plymouth was raised significantly last year and we are very proud to have played our part in that through our pupils' sporting achievements."
