A weekend camp packed with activities has been enjoyed by members of Plymouth College's Combined Cadet Force. Luckily the sun shone, which enabled the outdoor activities of powerboating, yachting and a shore-based obstacle course to go ahead without getting damp.
Taking place in Dartmouth, the cadets were accommodated overnight in the bunk beds of the 'retired' minesweeper HINDOSTAN and fed from its galley. A highlight of the camp was a session in a ship's bridge simulator. The cadets were able to navigate HMS Chaos through stormy waters into Portland harbour, narrowly missing breakwaters, ships, cross-channel ferries and sand banks!
An enjoyable and instructive weekend was had by all.
