Former Plymouth College pupil, Henry Slade, 20, is riding high after kicking 11 points for England U20s in the Junior Rugby World Cup final.

Competing against Wales in France, England were 15-3 down at half time - the three points were from Henry's boot.  Levelling the score to 15-15, Henry's conversion put England ahead for the first time.  Two penalties from Henry followed securing a 23-15 win for England.

Since leaving Plymouth College Henry has been studying at Exeter University and is signed to Exeter Chiefs.

"Henry was a really good all-round sportsman at school and was involved in many different sports," said Plymouth College Head of Rugby, Richard Edwards.  "His talent for rugby came to the fore in his last 3-4 years at school and he was central to a very successful 1st XV who got through to the quarter-final of the Daily Mail Cup.

"Henry was a highly-successful kicker at school and has always shown great attention to accuracy.  His performances in the semi-final and final of the Junior World Cup have demonstrated just how pivotal that role is.

"Plymouth College is thrilled to watch him go through the ranks and it would be a dream to see him playing for the Lions when the school team goes on tour to New Zealand in 2017."
