Plymouth College swimmers have come back from the British Swimming Championships with a clutch of titles, selections, records and personal bests. The event was held at Tollcross International Swimming Centre in Glasgow, which will be the home of swimming in this summer's Commonwealth Games.

Although only able to swim in the heats by invitation, Ruta Meilutyte's times in the 50m and 100m breaststroke took her to senior number one in the world for both events. Her time in the 200m freestyle was a Lithuanian senior record.

Jack Burton won junior gold medals in the 50m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke. Great Britain have selected Jack to compete in the 2014 LEN European Junior Championships

Jack Smith was the junior champion in the 50m freestyle and came 2nd in the 100m freestyle. Jack has also been selected by Great Britain for the 2014 LEN European Junior Championships.

Joseph Hulme won junior silver medals in the 100m backstroke, 200m backstroke and 200m IM. Joseph will join the two Jacks at the 2014 LEN European Junior Championships.

Harry Ackland came away with junior gold in the 100m breaststroke and junior silver in 50m breaststroke. England has selected Harry to compete in the 2014 Portuguese Open. Laura Stephens has also been selected for this event.

Former Plymouth College pupil, Benjamin Proud, took the senior gold in the 50m butterfly. He took senior silvers in the 50m freestyle and 100m freestyle. He will find out if he has made the England Commonwealth Games team on 7th May.
