Plymouth College multi-eventer, Kerenza Bryson, has won team gold for Great Britain at the World Youth A Modern Pentathlon Championships in Hungary.
Along with GB team-mates Francesca Summers and Eilidh Prise, Kerenza (far right) edged Italy into the silver and Japan into the bronze medal positions at the championships staged in Budapest.
"It was an amazing achievement for Kerenza and shows just how good she is at the moment," said Plymouth College's Director of Modern Pentathlon, Andy Hill. "This was a tough competition with the best athletes from 20 different nations.
"Youth A tournaments are for athletes aged 17-18 so the fact that Kerenza is still only 16 really puts her performance into perspective. She is now waiting to hear if she has been selected for the European Championships later this summer."
A week before the world event Kerenza won the U17 girls' British Triathlon Championships in Solihull with a two second personal best. Her swimming coach, Josh Lake, was justifiably pleased with her efforts saying this was reward for a lot of hard work.
Catherine Bishop and Chloe Hamilton teamed up with Kerenza to become the British Triathlon Team Champions. Their static shoot was particularly pleasing as they came 2nd, 3rd and 4th.
These were Kerenza's 6th and 7th National titles.
