Plymouth College Preparatory School's Oli Smith, 10, has been selected for the U10 Devon cricket team after attending a series of training sessions.
The Devon team will play 14 counties including Oxfordshire, Hampshire, Surrey and Somerset to name a few. Having already played their first match and won against Dorset, they are looking forward to the next 13. The season finishes with a three day tournament at Kings College, Taunton.
Year 5 pupil, Oli, has also been shining on the pitch at school where he got 100 runs and 7 wickets in a House match, which was a school record!
"Many congratulations to Oli for making the county team," said Headmaster, Chris Gatherer. "It is always a great honour to see one of our children represent the school in this way.The selection process is a thorough one, taking place throughout the winter months, and the final selection is an impressive and well deserved achievement."
