Six current and three former Plymouth College athletes will be swimming for their nations next week at the European Long Course Championships.

Laura Stephens (Great Britain), Thomas Fannon (Great Britain), Jessica Jackson (Great Britain), Ruta Meilutyte (Lithuania), Kregor Zirk (Estonia) and Ana-Maria Damjanovska (Macedonia) will join former pupils Benjamin Proud (Great Britain), Juliette Casini (Belgium) and Matthew Zammit (Malta) at the London Aquatics Centre.

Later this summer Laura, Thomas, Kregor and Ana-Maria will be joined by Federico Poggio (Italy) at the European Junior Championships in Hodmezovasarhely, Hungary.

Meanwhile, in other swimming news, Sam Dailley (pictured) has won gold in the 100m butterfly and bronze in the 200m butterfly on his debut for Great Britain at the Energy Standard Cup in Lignano, Italy.  He also picked up silver and bronze medals in the team relays.

At the South African National Championships, Felicity Passon (Seychelles) took gold and set a national record.

More medals were won by Jazz Harbour (five, including 3 gold) and David Miller (four, including 1 gold) at the 2016 National Surf Lifesaving Championships.
