Netball Plymouth College Vs Truro School

The three Plymouth College Junior sides travelled away to Truro School on Saturday. 

Playing indoors at Truro School sports hall, the U12 and U13 teams played first, followed by the U14 team.  The U12 team, captained by Izzy Page, started out very strongly indeed scoring early on in the match.  The Plymouth College girls worked very well, concentrating on their movement into spaces and were rewarded with goal after goal.  Truro had no reply for the excellent shooting of Alice Patterson, and with super defence at the other end of the court the Plymouth College U12 side emerged victorious by 22 goals to one.

On court two the U13 girls (pictured) also worked very hard.  They were focusing on driving towards the ball, and they did this with aplomb.  Again, the Plymouth College side outclassed the Truro School opposition with superb linking play between Abagael Black in defence, captain Danielle Trathen as centre and Indie Burrows in attack.  Annabel Bryce was on point as goal shooter, between Annabel and Indie Burrows, Plymouth College scored 21 goals.  The defensive combination of Abagael Black and Sophie Watson limited Truro to just 8 goals. Plymouth College came away convincing winners.

The U14 girls faced a much harder test, with a strong Truro School opposition.  It was a very even match with both sides making early errors but improving as they game progressed.  Izzy Courtman and captain Alice Tustain worked very hard to bring the ball through into the attacking circle, and Charlotte Harris worked tirelessly in defence to put their shooters under real pressure.  Truro were better at converting their scoring chances in the first two quarters of the game, giving them a seven goal lead, but the Plymouth shooters fought hard and brought the game back to an exciting conclusion.  It wasn’t quite enough however, with Truro School winning overall 11 - 19.
