Students from Year 3 enjoyed a fully interactive, ‘hands on’ session when Dartmoor Zoo visited this month!
Close Encounters allows children to get up close to some of the less furry animals at Dartmoor Zoological Park, while also learning about the lifestyle and habitats of a range of different species.
The children learnt how to tell if an animal is a carnivore, omnivore or herbivore by examining examples of animal teeth and discover how we can group animals based on their diets.
They got to hold and touch a Blue Tongued Skink, ‘Kelloggs’ the Corn Snake, Bearded Dragon, Giant African Land Snails and ‘Shelly’ the Leopard Tortoise!
