With just a few hours notice, staff in the prep school had to rethink their plans for the coming term and switch not just to remote learning, but to combining teaching for those children of our critical workers who are in school, as well as those that were remaining at home.
It goes without saying that we are incredibly proud, not only of the staff who were able to put this all together at incredibly short notice, but also of how our parents and children have stepped back up to the challenge of home learning. Some of the feedback we have received has been wonderful.
"I wanted to say a HUGE thank you to all the staff at Plymouth College Prep for all their support, communication and understanding this week as we have had to transition to new ways of working.
I particularly would like to recognise Serena Jenkins. She adapted very quickly to the news on Monday and has provide an extremely high level and quality of home working, frequent and making herself available for any questions or support needed. She has seemed to put herself directly in the parents shoes and not only has provided advice on teaching but also on simple things like how to navigate classrooms and even turn off alerts! Honestly she has made an incredibly stressful situation feel manageable and I can’t thank her enough.
Our daughter appreciates all her dedication and support, and says she’s the best teacher in the world!! (Direct quote)."
