The Marches 7s managed to proceed on Sunday 5th March in spite of unfavourable weather conditions.
With teams from as far afield as Darlington, Harrow and indeed Plymouth, the 40th year of the tournament, hosted at Hereford Cathedral School, was indeed a fully national affair with a number of regional academy sides participating and adding to the quality of the competition.
Plymouth College were successful in finishing top of their group, largely thanks to impressive vi...ctories against a powerful Dean Close School side (31-7) and King's Worcester (17-14).
It is fair to say that the draw was not on Plymouth College’s side as they drew Millfield Senior School at the Quarter-final stage. It was a tough examination for Plymouth College, who struggled to contain the pace of Millfield, who ran out 31- 5 winners.
The next competition for Plymouth College will be the Rosslyn Park National Schools Sevens later in March.
