Plymouth College gained some much needed 7 a side practice at St Boniface’s as both sides sought to gain experience via a live playing format. The match was played over three seven minute ‘thirds’ and Plymouth were able to give all 12 players some game time. In difficult conditions, Plymouth got off to a good start, demonstrating accurate handling skills and secure breakdown management. This resulted in tries in the first sector, but St Boni’s fought back strongly in the second third, scoring three well taken tries. In a tough final third, Plymouth eventually retook the lead before finishing the game with a fourth score that took them clear.
In what was a really enjoyable encounter, both teams played positively and with great attitude. It is hoped that a repeat fixture can be rearranged very soon.
