It was a slow start for Plymouth College getting the ball to the shooting circle, but we were unable to convert the goals and lots of back and forth passing over the net. Once Alice and Kate had found their rhythm, then we were on a roll.
Kate and Beth were a formidable force in the defending circle turning so many balls over to send them flying back up the court. Plymouth College rushed lots of passes so lost possession far too many times and our 'points of release' were dodgy at times! Score at the end of the session was 5 - 1 to Plymouth College.
After a quick change of players in the second part of the game, Plymouth College settled into shooting well. The players showed great circle movement and strong drives into the shooting circle. Plymouth College had soon increased the lead, and Plympton Academy was following, not dictating our play.
Izzy and the wings played a pivotal part in commanding the mid-court. Turning the balls and sending them towards the attacking circle. With Izzy's vision and Alice driving the ball to cut out the defence challenges and a quick turn to face the post the game became fluid, balls were able to fly to Kate who popped them through the net with ease. Score 15 - 2.
For the last quarter, Plymouth College implemented a quick change of players. Giving everyone a good opportunity to play. Plymouth College began the last session working far harder to achieve our goals, but none of the girls gave up, and they all kept trying, resulting in great court-play all the way through. Final score 19 - 5.
Fantastic match played by a fantastic squad of eager players who were excellent ambassadors of the School.
