Congratulations to Head Girl, Sydney Wood, who has graduated with a silver Industrial Cadet Award from the GlaxoSmithKline Early Talent placement programme. Based on the Barnard Castle site, Sydney completed 30 hours of work in the pharmaceutical industry.
The GSK programme gives school pupils a real insight into both GSK and the pharmaceutical industry, enabling them to find out about possible career options within a variety of functions throughout the business.
Participants also engage in simulated activities to discover how GSK gets a molecule to market, as well as developing their employability skills by taking part in presentations and activities.
All those who complete the work experience programme, have the opportunity to earn and achieve an Industrial Cadet Award like Sydney. This is a nationally recognised award and something which is highly desirable to have on your CV.
Great work Sydney!
