Congratulations to Upper Sixth pupil and cricketer, James Degg, who has been selected to attend the Devon County Cricket Club Lions Winter High Performance training programme at the Exeter University Cricket Centre. The sessions consist of strength and conditioning work, as well as skills-based sessions, aiming to prepare the squad for the 2019 season.
James gained valuable experience playing for the Lions over the summer with opposition including Warwickshire, Dorset, Gloucestershire and Somerset.
The aim of Devon Lions is to identify and develop the next generation of Devon County Cricket Club players, giving players between the ages of 17 and 21 an opportunity to showcase their talent and progress into the County side and beyond, at as early an age as possible, in addition to assisting the development of exceptionally gifted cricketers who aspire to enter the professional game.
