The best young Alpine ski racers converged in Bormio, Italy, for the 23rd English Alpine Championships last week.
Molly Shorey achieved a silver medal in the Giant Slalom and a bronze medal in the Slalom event U13 and was placed 1st British skier.
Molly’s intensive training programme in Austria is starting to pay off and she is hoping for a big result in the British Champs in France this April.
Molly missed her final race on Friday as it clashed with the English Athletics Cross Country Championships in Leeds, which she flew directly to from Milan. She was in with a realistic chance of a top ten finish with 450 runners in the U13 girls race, only to be tripped to the ground in the first 50 meters into last place. Molly showed amazing grit and determination to fight her way back through the field to a credible 38th place.
