It's been another fabulous week of extra-curricular here at Plymouth College! Our after-school clubs and co-curricular activities are in full swing and we have had a great time this week with the variety of different clubs at the school producing amazing work!
STEM CLUB
In STEM club this week we have been researching and choosing Crest Award projects to enter. Groups are going to be experimenting and developing products using their knowledge and skills in science, technology, engineering and maths, design and enterprise students have chosen a range of projects from developing a lipstick to discovering what makes the perfect cup of tea.
Year 11 Duke of Edinburgh
In the Year 11 Duke of Edinburgh, pupils have been brushing up on their cooking skills and practising to cook their expedition meals before heading out to test their skills in a more rural setting!
Year 7 and 8 Drama Club
It's all fun and games in Drama club! Students started the session with some improvisation tasks. They became a human radio and made excuses to their bosses - complete with hillarous miming from their team mates. This half term, they have been working on sitcoms and have enjoyed exploring the features of the genre and creating their own larger than life characters.
Basketball Club
Our after-school Basketball Club on a Tuesday is coached by the Assistant Head Coach of Plymouth Raiders.
The students receive expert advice on how to improve their shooting and dribbling technique and start to look forward to playing fixtures later on this term. Pupils have relished the chance to be back involved in physical activity and are making the most of the provision we have made available.
Here are a few pictures showing our future basketball stars in their training!
Plymouth College Choir
Last, but certainly not least, we have had the pleasure of welcoming back our Plymouth College Choir to practice in person, rather than over Zoom! It's been great to get back to practising all together and produce amazing work!
