Competing against the best swimmers in the South West region, the boys’ team had the best result coming second in the medley relay at the South West Primary School Championships.  The silver medal position means that they have qualified for the national final being held in Sheffield in June.  Unfortunately they had a flying start in the freestyle relay.

The girls took one second off their previous best time to come 4th in the medley relay, taking 5th place in the freestyle relay.  The swimmers were Poppy Tank, Harriet Mitchell, Natasha Spiers and Charlotte Toptani for the girls, and Alex Pillage, Myles Pillage, Tom Brooker and Ollie Lord for the boys.

A week later, Myles Pillage broke the event record, and took the title, in the 11 and under 50m freestyle in the IAPS National Swimming Championships held in Crawley.  His twin brother, Alex, did a personal best to come 6th in the 50m backstroke.  The freestyle relay team in the same age category improved their time by two seconds to come 11th in the country.  The team was Myles Pillage, Alex Pillage, Oscar Marsland and Matthew Singh.
