With a resounding victory against Tavistock College two weeks ago, the Plymouth College U14 rugby team met Ivybridge Community College yesterday.
With clear memories of their last encounter, when Plymouth College took the West Devon Cup in a close game at Plymouth Albion's ground, the boys knew it was going to be a close game.
Plymouth ran hard and dominated up front but struggled to exploit the wide areas and missed key tackles. Adam White, Toby Farley, Fred Aniyi and Jason Blake picked and ran strongly while Tafara Mukono and John Alao gave options out wide. The match was extremely close throughout and finished 24-24 at the final whistle.
Lots of work remains, but the team has edged a little closer to another West Devon Cup final.
