Plymouth College pupil, Amy Searle, 13, secured two top three finishes as part of a Cornish team competing at the National Pony Society Dressage Championships. The team of four, Hoskin's Hotshots, secured reserve team honours in the preliminary competition and third in the novice final against an international field.
Riding part-bred Connemara, Ferdinand, this was Amy's second year competing at the prestigious championships held at Addington, Buckinghamshire. As well as the team honours Ferdinand was awarded a rosette for the highest placed Connemara in his section.
Amy is a member of the British Young Riders Dressage Scheme and receives help and support from Mary Tyrell, owner of her local riding stables. She also attends Pammy Hutton clinics at Tall Trees Arena.
"I am really pleased with Ferdi's performance - we've definitely improved since last year," said Amy. "I have brought him on myself and it's really rewarding to gain such good results from him."
